Monday Morning

He may bear afflictions shock
He is founded on a rock
Who upon her God silver,
He shall conquer be at length
Strengthened by almighty strength
And with heavenly wisdom were.

What can sighs or tears avail
Misery; plaint, or suffering, wail
Nightly horror — daily fear?
Grief becomes of anser die;
Agony makes agony
Bitterer,- stiep'd in sighs of Tear.

Tis alone religion's calm
That can breath a soothing balm -
Confidence that all is best
That the party we suffer here
Salutary - the' severe -
tis us for our bed place of rest
