Seats and sources of ambiguity, with the
several exemplifications thereof, springing from each are these
which follow:—

The Purpose for which they are here brought to view in
the application of the several remedies of which they are
respectively susceptible

I.Source the first, number: of ambiguity
shining from it, these

I. Aor an, any, x every - In such cases a or say
an have the effect of the word every, which has
again the effect of the word all.

In other cases a or an has not the same effect
as every: in these cases the application made by it
of the enactment in which it is enacted is confined
to some one and no more than one subject matter:
in which case ,the purpose of the enactment is
satisfied, when application has made of it
to the one subject matter of the enactment: in
then cases it will not be considered as applying
to any more than one. The end in view, as showing
of the contrast, will serve for guidance.

Example of the extended or equivalent to plural sense of the word a or an.
