1821 Feb. 10 Mora's Imprisonment &c
13 13
The law measures in question is one of two of which, in a begin at a time when only one of them was known or to have been carried into existing or I spoken, judging as far as of the from such in case either any cognizance I was capable of judging I spoke of them as having if not for their object for their material effect in contemplation of which I exempted not to designate them by the appellation of the libertical tenor. The executive consensus with which they have been followed, were of the number of those with which I was a full and assured expectation of seeing them followed such being the very measures by which I would not think it was in contemplation and intention that in the events in question they should be followed.
Let it not be imagined that in and by the indications here given in respect of and any thing of peculiar malignity is meant to be inscribed to the conduct of and character of the particular individuals. To say of them that such was their designs and endeavours was in view of the matter nothing more than to say that they ever a situation which afforded held out to them a facility real of or for giving effect to such designs and such endeavours. Acts resulting from such a design are according in my view to my view of human nature or have to be performed as the acts desires by which the inducement is the acts these desires by which the species is preserved.
