XIX
Officer and may cause the Officer to produce his
Flockbook or other account of the charge of survey of
such suspected person, and may examine a to answer upon oath in
what manner he charges such person, and how such
person pays his duties, and if it shall appear by
such Flockbook or account, or evidnceof the Officer
that such person is survey'd as an Alehousekeeper
and is charged with the same duties as Alehousekeepers
are, and is not entitled to the allowance or abatement
given to Brewers by 12. Car.2.c.2h.f.36 c. Burn 11,41,26, he shall be deemed an
Alehousekeeper [for the purpose of convicting him
for selling without a license.] Suppl.

B On taking out a license, the person to be licensed shall personally appear and enter
into a recognizance [D]with surities binding himself under a penalty
of £10 to be paid by himself, and 5£ to be paid
by eadch of the two surities to observe the regulation contained the <add> keeping of good order and therein</add>
in the [ D ] <add> within the house and it's appertunenances as the Justices shall think convenient, and shall pay by as
way of fee to the Justices [or their Suppl.] Clerks, for themselves
and for them . . . and for the Clerk of the
Peace.
XXI
If the party person to be licensed shall be hindered through through lackness or
other infirmity or other reasonable cause to be
allowed by the Justices, be hindered from personally
appearing, the a recognizance [E] may be taken from the
surities alone, so it be in the sum of £10 each.
