carried ye next Day myself, [mind that & deduct it out of ye 3/3] Jerry being with me
we took Boat at ye Old Swan & he was much delighted with going by water, after
Drinking Tea at Mrs. Saunders we went to Slaughter's Coffee Shop where we had an
hour or two of french Chat, & Jerry was full of Spirits & attracted the Notice
& engaged ye Conversation of almost evry one there, & learn'd ye Game of Pelish-Drafts
This was the Adventure of Thursday — o' Friday having other Business at that End
of the Town I Dined there & went in ye afternoon in Consequence of a Letter read ye Day before from
Mrs. Foster to drink a Dish of Tea with her, when she paid me 10 Gns. in part, he it
seems has been near 2 months at Peterborough - abt 50 miles off, they are going to move
Quarter to Chelsea. She Expects her Father with her Sister from
in a Month's time to settle in England wch Gives her great
pleasure more especially as it will be a means of setting Mr Foster easy
in some little affairs wch. Straiten him at present - she expressed their
great sense of my Tenderness & Consideration for 'e, & indeed I am glad I
suppress'd my Resentment as they have given me Reason to believe 'em sincere
in their good Intentions — Saturday afternoon I took Jerry to Mr Bonnet's where we had a Dish of Tea & french Chat & at night we had our Usual Concert, to wch.
young Ray came by Invitation, & he thoroughly enjoy'd it - no one cod shew
