Dear Sir, Queen's Coll. March 29. 1763
I was favoued with Your letter: And as to Your
Son's speaking at the Encenia; I shall be very ready to do all
in my power to promote it; & if he produces something very
clever, I hope I shall be able to bring it about, by the help of
of the V. Chancellor. But of the goodness of his production
the inspectors will be the judges. Young Gentlemen of rank
& quality will doubtless have the preference; but as two or
three Commoners spoke at Lord Westmorland's installation,
