This superabundance when it is not the affect of dishonesty
is at once as it is the continuing cause of ignorance
When a man knows thus much that out of a vast number
that have been commonly employed, in use some few, will
do the business but cant tell which of them to make—
sure he puts them all.

When for want of another more pertinent, I use so harsh
a term as ignorance I mean it not as a term of reproach:
All I mean by it is to indicate an acknowledged fact, chargeable not so
much on the person, as his fault, as on the subject as his
misfortune: a misfortune, which ceases to be a reproach by being general
and sometimes unavoidable.
