This Page Has Not Been Transcribed Yet Manslaughter, that is killing done in cold anger produces a mischief of the first order, which every man, were there no punishment to check it, might have reason to apprehend much more then now that there is a punishment, from such persons (of horror papicreto term per absents) as falls within his acquaintance. These persons are few in comparison of those to whom a man would stand underposed to suffer the late pain, were there no punishment for Murder I am speaking now of killing done through Avarice.
From the true mischief of cash is as the matter of the sil of persons to that of the other.
It is but too true, that the whole doctrine of concluding manslaughter and murder is a science of the most deplorable confession

There are murders vastly more mischievous than murders: there are manslaughters vastly more mischievous than manslaughters: Murder through avarice is other first by persons specially related : or second, by persons at large. From murder by persons at large there is danger to a greater number. But form murder by specially related there is first greater opportunity: second greater motives. The danger of each one of these that stand exposed.
