At a Mutery at Westminster June 28. 1781 present a Majority
of the Judges who had viewed the pieces of Ground recommended
by the Supervisors, — reported that Wanosworth North Fields
did not appear to them to be a proper place for either of the
Penitentiary Houses but that they were unanimously of
opinion that Battersea rise was a very proper place for them
both.
A New report was now presented by the supervisors
signed by Sir Charles Bunbury and Thd Bavdler Esqr recommending
Battersea rise as a proper for both the Houses. —
This report was approved by the Mutery, the approbation was
signed —
At a Mutery in Cork street June 29 present
Sir Chas Bunbury and T Bavdler Esq.r that
application be made to Lord Spencer the proprietor of
Battersea rise, for a particular of the Ground to be
purchased for the penitentiary Houses, together with an
Estimate of the Value of the said Ground.
