CERTAINTY FEOFAILS

As all those contrivances by which Justice is eluded, sporting arise out of some stage or other of
the Judicial proceedings, the order of those proceeding will afford us [the most] a simple & natural
track course of investigation. Passing this along we shall see how the weakness of the Law is
everywhere rooted situated in some [inoperative] needless and preternatural excrescencies in the parts which
we successively meet with in the our way which [excrescencies] being cut off, we shall observe
how convalescence & vigor follow every where the stroke of the extirpating amputating Knife.

We shall some times have occasion to observe how some of these excrescencies have
bewen cherished by [cultivation[propped]]as if each of them in them only had [been] contained the Punctum
saliens which animates the whole systen. Many to this hour for want of
a distinct anatomical anatomy view of it. conceive as if tho' there should not be the points
at which vitality originates, yet that it is so diffused through them as to through so many
ducts to the operative parts, that were they there to be extirpated, the punishment depenition of these
would ensue. as] be a necessary consequence
