Renewal of
Licences -

(

5) §. 7 17. And be it further enacted that every person
by whom any licence shall have been taken out under
and by virtue of this Act <add>having been so licenced as aforesaid, whether at any General
Licensing Day or any Bye-licensing or Special Day as aforesaid,
shall at every Yearly and every Year for at each General licencing time as aforesaid, so long as he or she shall
continue to exercise the occupation in respect
of which he or she shall so have been licensed take
out a fresh licence, upon a fresh piece of paper or parchment, and enter into a fresh Recognizance
as herein after afore mentioned; application in
respect thereof being made
ten days at the
least before the
time comprised in
such preceding licence
shall have been expired;
Provided always
and shall at on each occasion attend in person
at the Board or meeting Sitting Meeting respectively at which such fresh licence shall
be taken out: Provided always that if for the better accommodation
of individuals, and for the better indication
of the length of time during which each licenced person
shall have enjoyed his or her licenced continued in the exercise of his <add>or her occupation without reproach, it shall and
may be lawful to and for such Commissioners and
such licencing Magistrates Justices respectively to make use so to order matters as to take order in such manner
of that the same instrument shall be made use of year after year for the renewal
of each licence, as also that the same instrument or deed of the recognizance shall be made use of in like manner for the renewal of each
Recognizance (particularly if when it shall happen
that the same person or persons shall each of them join as Surety <add>or Sureties in the same ) join in such Recognizance
as Surety at every such time, as also
that the personal attendance, as well of the party
as of his Surety or Sureties, may upon occasion be dispensed with, the business
of ren such renewal being transacted through the
medium of the post free of postage in manner
hereinafter mentioned
or otherwise according as otherwise and the grant of the
license in such instance whether for the first timein any other such convenient manner as shall be ap from
time to time be appointed by the said Commissioners.
or in the way of renewal, as also the execution of the
instrument of recognizance shall be attested and authenticated
