Police Revenue Report

Thus it has been and thus it was, that, principally by the suggestions
furnished by Mr Colquhoun, Your Committee
have been led to regard the Police
of the Country, or at least that branch of it the operations of which
are is directed against delinquency, as a whole,
for the superintendance of which a Board

object, and but which should embrace the whole
of that object, has presented itself to Your Committee as an establishment which Your
Committee have been led to regard as much
reviled in this country and as promising of to
