If by a dud inter vivos I give a man an estate, it is not his to dispose of; it goes not to his Children. The reason is plain. I have not said as much. To him I gave it & he has it: I gave it not to anybody else. it goes not therefore his heirs, because I had not mentioned to anyone else - after his Death it returns again to me.

That I now give it to him and his "heirs" what is the consequence = that his heirs whoever they be take it after him. Why? because I gave it to them. But suppose he has none what becomes of it then?
