Bath Sunday Septr 25. 1785
Sir
I have been lately favour'd with a Letter from your good Father dated
Paris Sepr. ye 2d instt, which has lately been transmitted to Me hither from
my house in London, wherein he writes to me as follows "a few Days
"since I sent your Stockings & one Pair of Gloves, with your —
"Son's Letter, by Major Gall, who promised to give them to my Son
"and I now take the opportunity by the favour of Major Morrison to
"send the other two Pair of Gloves, and the Pair of Socks which
"the Major has promised me he will send you" These are
your Father's own words;
Since which I have had transmitted to me (in a frank Cover by last Satys post) a Note, left at
my House in Town, to the following purport "Major Morrisons
Complimts. to Mr B— has sent by this Servant the Two
Pair of Gloves
