I had determined to have nothing more to do with Crectchoff
but the news Beatty brought from Petersburgh makes
me wish to continue the leather fabrick if Zadobrast
can be brought at a reasonable price and if anybody
who has oak timber enough will contract to furnish
bark. of this I have written to Joceb Pavolitsh.
Beatty tells me the horses are bad & in want of hay
& his horse ruined. I believe I must buy his horse
at the price he gave for it, but if hay has been
wanting the Serjeant must be in fault.
I have time to say no more I send five hundred
rubles to Joceb Pavolitsh which I would wish chiefly
to be employed in Leather Fabrick till I can render more
which I hope by Beatty, but if other matters appear
more necessary J.P. will use his discretion.
Copy of the note I mean to give the Prince tomorrow.
