The use [office] this publication I have solicited of the Act is to furnish [exhibit
a number of examples, ready to cite
upon occasion & the rules & general observations
[& terms of nomenclature] that are introduced,
are introduced only to render make them
examples [intelligible, & to shew to what use
they will be applied were chosen] and the purpose for
which they are chosen have been understood.

Till a man can make sure that such &
