an unacceptable course, so to word the notice as the term
of it might be conformable to the state of the case
Another alteration I would beg leave to suggest, consists in
the inserting, instead of the concluding words "to divide allot and
inclose the same", some such words as the following viz: "or
"such part thereof as shall be found necessary for the purpose
"of the Penitentiary Establishment, after the reservation and
"allotment of a certain Portion or Portions to be divided among
"and allotted in severally to, the several Parties interested in
"in proportion to their respective Interests, in such manner as
"Parliament shall direct". —
The reason of my wishing to see a Clause to the above effect
is that having, partly from my attendance on the Dean and
Chapter, partly from other information, had occasion to observe,
that the reservation of certain portions of the Waste for different
purposes, is an object which some of the Parties have very much at
heart, and for which accordingly provision has been very carefully
made in the Bill (which after having been submitted to the
Attorney and Sollicitor General has been returned I presume into
your office). What I should be apprehensive of is that if a notice
worded as that in question is at present, without a Clause to
