(a) The sudden breaking out of the war between the
Turks and Russians, in consequence of an unexpected
attack made by the former on the latter,
concurred with some other incidents in putting a
stop to the design. The person have spoken of hav- at
that time Lieut. Col. Commandant of a Batallion in the
Empress' service, having obtained a regiment and other honours for
his services in the course of the war, is now
stationed with his regiment in a distant part of
the country.
