to refer to & to bid upon. When the establishmoent is
accomplished, the publish.<hi rend="underline">d</hi> asort of little history of it
would have its use: & to such a History these acco.<hi rend="underline">ts</hi>
would form an Appendix. To such a History the
Novelty of the establishm.<hi rend="underline">ts</hi> may naturally be expected
to draw some attention: & under such Circumstances
peculation must be very hardy if it looks upon
itself as secure.
2..d If this be thought not suffic.<hi rend="underline">t</hi>, let him have
also the previous assurance that the work will be resurveyed,
& that not by any Surveyor known beforehand,
but by some one or two taken by lot from the whole
body of the profession, & that not till immediately before
the Survey is to be made.
On this plan there seems to be a real advantage
in hav.<hi rend="underline">g</hi> a man over from England. An Irish
Architect has his Connections ready formed
with workmen: & it may happen that among
those connections there may be some intimate
enough to admitt of Collusion. Such Connect<hi rend="underline">s</hi> a
Stranger, how well dispos'd sooner to peculate,
would not find it quite so easy to form, nor prudent
to Attempt to form, on first setting his foot in the
Country.

being taken in this respect to stand in point of
