II. Judicial functionaries, ministerial these,
1. Messengers or message bearers. 2. Prehensors, or say Arrestors
3. Doorkeeper or Doorkeepers. 4. Crier or Criers. 5. Jailor
or Jailors. 6. Guards.

Message-bearers may be every person who is capable
of being an Arrestor: not so, vice versa . Of the Doorkeeper
and Crier the functions may be united in one person, or
allotted so different persons, according to circumstance
Guards may be requisite or not according to circumstances.
Crier is an appellation employed under the existing
system: function of this functionary, calling into the
Justice Chamber persons who are in attendance on the
outside of it. Only an extraordinary occasions can
Guards in addition to Doorkeepers and Criers, be needed:
and on extraordinary occasions they may be needed
not only for the protection not only of the Judge, but of the
Messengers and Arrestors.
