1821. April 24.
J. B. to Nunez
2

What use the constituted authorities in your
country are disposed to make and will make of my labours,
remains to be seen. The whole Spanish people, and not either exclusively
or in preference their rulers or any of them, being
the objects of my sympathy, my endeavours for the service
of all will not be by any coldness or even adverse
warmth on the part of the few. et few papers by which
show see in part on what footing I stand with
those rulers as well as with the rulers of some other
Countries, my own included, will, if I can so manage it,
accompany this letter. , I hope for no long time, by a
weakness in my eyes, from the completion and revisal
of a work already too long in hand addressed to your
Nation, and intituted "Rid yourselves of Ultramarias"
I have, in the way of dictation, made considerable advance
towards the completion of another work having for it
title First Lines or outlines
