Dear Bentham

I have given your pamphlet to
the Master of the Rolls and told him you
sent it him in consequence of his speech
because you were pleased with his notions about
colonies — He is obliged to you & thanks
you —But he is a cold & silent man
and whether he likes the pamphlet or not
neither you nor I will ever know —

It appears to me to contain important truths
very strongly put, but the March Government
was not, and is not, ripe for their reception
neither are the Government or people of
England.
