Hours for purchasing
-Children not to
be dealt with -

No one of person exercising any occupation
in respect of which a licence is required to be taken
out shall exercise such his occupation at any
other time of the four and twenty hours other than
between the hours of and in the morning and
in the afternoon from Michaelmas to Lady
Day both inclusive, and between the hours of
in the morning and in the afternoon from
Lady Day to Michaelmas both exclusive.

(2)§ 25. And be it further enacted, that no
No person who, under and by virtue of this Act,
is required to take out a licence under the names
of Purchaser of Second-hand Household and other
goods for sale, a Wholesale Purchaser of Rags and
Cordage for sale to Papermakers, hereby a Retail
Purchaser of Rags and Cordage for sale to Paper-makers,
a Purchaser of Second-hand Apparel, Piece-Goods and
Remnants for sale, an Itinerant Purchaser of Second-hand
Apparel, Piece-Goods and Remnants for sale, a Purchaser
of Second-hand Naval Stores for sale, a Wholesale Purchaser
of second-hand Metals for sale, a Retail Purchaser
of Second-hand Metals for sale, a Purchaser of
Second-hand Metals of persons in general for melting
or working up, a Purchaser of Second-hand Building
Materials for sale, a Keeper of Draught Carts for
Secondhand Goods
a Keeper of Hand
-Carts for Second hand
Goods, a Seller of Forfeited
Pledges, or a Purchaser
of Ships Stock for sale, or a Slaughterman
and
Boiler
Dealer in second hand Naval stores, Wholesale Dealer in Papermakers,
materials, Retail Dealer in
Paper-makers materials,
a Dealer
in second-hand
Naval Stores,
Dealer in Second-hand Apparel, made up Piece-Goods
or and Remnants, Dea Wholesale Dealer in Second-hand Apparel
made-up Piece-Goods and Remnants, Wholesale Dealer in Old Metals Retail Dealer
in Old Metals
, Purchaser of old
respectively shall exercise such his occupation at the
old metals for working up , for sale Cart-Keepers <add>of Draught Carts</add> for Second
or -hand Goods, Hand Cart Keeper of Hand-Carts for Second-hand goods
respectively, Horse Dealer, Cattle Skinner and Boiler
or Pawnbroking Salesman of pawned goods respectively shall exercise such
his occupation at any time of the four and twenty
hours other than between the hours of [] in the
forenoon and [] in the afternoon from Michaelmas
to Lady Day to Michaelmas both inclusive, and
between the hours of [] in the forenoon and []
in the afternoon from Michaelmas to Lady Day both
exclusive: or such other hours
as shall be from time to <add>time have been prescribed

said Commissioners:
nor shall in the course of such his dealings purchase any article whatsoever
from any child under the age of [] years,
if such child be unknown to such purchaser nor although
known, unless the name and abode of such child be
forthwith booked and regis entered upon the Original books of such
