Power of search for
goods stolen

§. 34. And be it further enacted, that upon
reasonable cause (proved by oath)
Upon proof made upon oath of there being reasonable
ground cause - cause for suspecting that any goods or other valuables
articles stolen or otherwise feloniously or
fraudulently obtained

Officer upon by warrant from duly issued by any Justice (which warrant
such Justice is
hereby authorized
and empowered to
grant)

to search into make search for such goods or valuables in any such Building Yard or place
at all seasonable hours in the day time or as
also in the night if thereto specially authorized in and
by such warrant, and moreover in case of necessity
to break open all or any of the doors of
to enter into and upon the premises, and therein make search for such
to enter thereinto by force by such breaking open
goods or valuables by force, and for that purpose to break open
doors or otherwise locks and packages, if thereto specially authorized
in and by such warrant as aforesaid: and if
upon such search any such goods or valuables articles as
aforesaid be found, then to seize and detain or carry off and
detain secure the same and the same to convey before the untill the the same shall be disposed
same or any other Justice according to the said Warrant
of in due course of law together with all such
persons in whose possession such goods or articles
shall be or who found to be or who knowing them the same to
be stolen or otherwise
feloniously
or fraudulently obtained

shall appear
to be privy to their being so deposited
concealed or lodged, to the end that and untill such goods articles
or persons respectively shall be dealt with and disposed of in due
course of law.
