Be it enacted t
that from and after the of 179 next
ensuing, the several persons respectively exercising
the several trades and occupations following shall
respectively be bound to take out licences or stamps in manner
hereinafter following empowering them respectively
to exercise the said several trades and occupations
on subject to nevertheless to the payment of certain duties and on moreover to certain
certain and to the performance of certain conditions and obligations
other terms and conditions following: that is to say
1. Every person dealing in any kind in old or
second-hand Sailcloth, Canvas Flags Sacks, Sacking, Junk, Cordage, Rope-Yarn or any other species
of Naval Stores
in the manufacturing
whereof sp weaving or
spinning hath been
employed

or other any other kind species of Canvas
old or second-hand naval stores
shall take out a
licence charged with a and shall pay<add>ing for the same an annual stamp duty of five pounds
if the residence of the place where such trade or occupation
is carried on
Thus: not
where the party
resides


be within Quere within
miles of St
Pauls
Cathedral
Church of St Paul
all round

the liberties of the Cities
of London or Westminster or the Borough of Southwark
or within the Bills of mortality or within either of the
Parishes of St Mary le bow and St Pancras both
in the County of Middlesex: which said District
so composed shall be
termed the London Police
District

or if in any other part
of Great Britain then a stamp duty of £ 2:10s.
and during the time comprised in such licence shall
keep constantly exhibited on the front door of his or her shop or warehouse in durable and conspicuous characters

then some number to be thereupon exhibited for the purpose
