C 13. Of Theft or Stealing

in general will not know; and the apprehension
of being plundered deters men from coming to
assist.

Punishment Extra-punishment
In this case
the offender shall be scorched scorching with fire.
1. Scorching; till the fat of his the body drop into the fire. See Tit. of Punishments This

May be done once or oftner at discretion. As the crime was
inhuman so shall the punishment be terrible.
Through fire came the crime: by fire be shall be the punishment.

Punishment By this case over and above the ordinary
