For avoidance of
need less vexation
let it be provided
that such evil it shall always
on its author
To those whose it were to prevent needless vexation the
means of accomplishing it are sufficiently obvious in every instance
in as far as possible let the author of the evil proceeding evil be the individual
in whom the evil of it falls If it be for want of this attention
that the vexation has been produced make the author earlier responsible
impose on him in so far as be is able to him at the bur
if indminishable of making compensation to the suffering only for the
for the suffering he has sustained suffering to the suffering: if it be not for want of , but on
the contrary by reason of attention in of all inter employed on
the endeavour to produce the evil and without any justification
causes for doing so him penalty responsible: to the
burthen of comparative of imposed, add ulterior suffering in the
name and for the purpose of punishment: if either the case
not admitt of comparative in where there os no individual
special suffer, or the poor wrongdoer the author of the vexation
how not wherewith so compensation, in the case to the less of so
much as it would have been necessary to disburse in order
to the purpose of making compensation, substitute equal equivalent
suffering in the name of punishment: in a word word
for simple poverty impose the burthen of compensation;
for evil consciousness, add punishment.
