J.B. to Peel on G.Bs Letter to him

Sir

On the 17th instant my Nephew George
Bentham put into my hands, this letter of that date
with which you had honoured him. I owe it to being
yourself, as well as to him and myself to make
known to you that the fact of his having written it was, and the
altogether
unknown to me. It was, without by accident, as my as without my knowledge, dated (I said) from my house
