Mode of operation in the corrective or say directive
mode. Proceed in the manner in which the corrections are
made required to be made are notified when prefixt
or subjoined to any ordinary printed Book
as for example in such a place . dele such and such
words, or such and or such a word: after such or such
a word insert so and so: to such and such words
or word substitute so and so
Mode of proceeding in the reeditive mode. Make reference to such and such Articles in the Code: speak of them as abrogated: then the new ordinance that is to say the new Article or Articles meant to be enacted, and declare that they are to be considered as substituted to those abrogated. If the Articles thus abrogated are all the Articles of which the Section which they belong to is composed, then in this case speak of the whole Section as abrogated: and so in the case of an entire Chapter, or an entire Code
