Letter II
J. B. to Legislative Council Postscript. Not sent 27 March
N.B. July 12 1826 Upon recollection no Letter was sent with the paper delivered to the Constituted Authorities by Col. Stanhope. The first letter of the correspondence was accordingly that of June 1823 of the Greek Legislators to J.B. sent by M who with two letters of his to J.B.
B.J. I send by this conveyance a compleat some additions to the portions of my proposed Code sent through Colonel Stanhope of my proposed Code Could I have got transmitted and revised time enough for the in time would some other parts that I have finished very little more would have been wanting. In Every thing material being settled, in a fortnight from this time I make little doubt of seeing the whole compleated: at the time when mean time I send a Table in which the titles of the several Chapters and Sections are exhibited in one view: At the time when besides the additions they exhibit some little variation as compared with that those sent before. At the time when it was commenced, the wrok could not have had any special view to Greece. But for the a supply to such deficiencies and remedy to such incongruities as would otherwise have been unavoidable the presence of your worthy representation and the opportunities I flatter myself with obtaining instructions on this besides is a most felicitous circumstance. I shall immediately have it printed and translated and printed — original and translation together for their use.
