As yet a stranger – seek her, – find her, – court her
Who so important, – who so dear to thee?
She thro' all lifes vicissitudes shall guide thee
And be thy guide, thy guardian leader & thy light
By days pillar of mighty strength beside thee
And a tall pole of heavenly flame by night.
Life is indeed a speck – but in her keeping
That speck is pregnant with eternal blessing ever present bliss
On earth her hand shall wipe the eyes that's weeping
In heaven – shall force the of redress light it with eternal peace

Thy God & my Father! – Let thy influence lead me
Thy Sunbeams shine my onward journey o'er;
Till night's descending glooms shall overshade me
When toil shall tire & grief shall waste no more
Beneath thy ages On to the boundary of my travels pressing
'Neath Thy paternal eye – secure – serene:
Earth gilded with the hope of heaven's pure blessing
And heaven more bright remembering what has been
