This advantage of unity in judication over
a number so little distant from it as might
have remained a problem in some degree proble-
-matical had it not been were it not for the example spectal
spectacle exhibited during a period not very remote
by the King's Bench. A Chief possessed of distinguished by
talents of the first brilliancy and many other admirable
endowments: in public consummate dignity decency of language and decorum:
a kind of generous antipathy to chicane and con-
-tempt for pedantry: [add to this] a sort of general substantial zeal for justice
