It is Upon this occasion as upon so many others in the Statute Book we may observe with an ingenious modern,
tho' in a sense not altogether the same with his that the Statute-Book is not the proper repository for
historical facts.
This Solecism The is frequent in Acts of Parliament: & reigns more especially in the current forms of conveyancing: any happy if they the client were afforded in the most cause of complaint they afforded. This solecism reigns very much in Conveyances & is frequent in Acts of Parliament.

I think there are few who, upon it's being suggested to them that "wherefore" was not a proper consequent to whereas
would acknowledge recognize 1 <add>acquire</add>, 7 if they had not perceived it of themselves, 2 the 3 truth 4 of 5 the 6 observation: the reason however may not <add>might tho' the reason may not strike them at first</add>
perhaps strike every one at first view glance: and yet this is not one of those cases where <add>the Law of propriety is not by arbitrary usage:</add> is a reason for it depending upon the principles of universal grammar which always have been & always must be rating
