C 5 Of Exemptions from Punishments 6 4
If a man in is right mind commit any offence and
afterwards fall into temporary insanity, any corporal or
disgraceful punishment which he may have incurred
shall not be executed upon him until he have a lucid
interval: but in the mean time any pecuniary punish
:ment or
may be inflicted on him, and he shall be lia
:le to compensation.

Where the insanity is pleaded let the Judge beware
of imposition. —

Exemption III on Infancy
1.
An infant under the age of [Fifteen] Years is exc
empted from every irreparable bodily punishment; and
in the room thereof the Judge may substitute any kind
of bodily punishment that is not irreparable. He
may also reduce of any chronical punishment from a
perpetual to a temporary punishment of the same
kind.
