The art of connecting substances or webs & of retaining them in certain forms & positions by means of filaments drawn through parts of the substances to be united.

Ready perception of the exactness of the lines & angles in any straight lined figure.

Ready perception of the exactness of the lines forming curves in any curved lined figure.

Aptitude in perceiving the exact situation in which the tool deleted text used for the insertion of the filament is to be placed.

Dexterity in placing & guiding the tool in the precise situation, the mind has previously determined to be the proper one, & which the eye has marked upon the substance at work upon.
