III Advance of annual a Year's Head money, for
expenses of Stocking, coming in &c
The number of prisoners to be provided for in the
construction of the Building being now 2000 instead
of 1,000, i:e: doubled it might seem of course that
the amount of the advance in question should
be doubled likewise. But considering hat it was
certain that the number of prisoners capable
of being committed to the charge in the first instance
would amount to 1,000, whereas, to judge from the
numbers reported to the Committee of Finance in June
1798, about 1860 in the whole it seems probable that the number
capable of being committed to his charge at
in the first instance will scarcely equal amount to quite 2000,
