impartially appropriated to the reception of
such facts and disquisitions as belong
exclusively to the physical department of science division in the field of human
knowledge, yet where the aid of calculation is called in employ'd,
subjects disquisitions which otherwise would
seem to belong come exclusively to the department
ethical or logical branch, have
