F 4. [a] Mr Nepuin did not know Mr Long as yet
know enough of Mr Long. He thought he had nothing worse than indolence and incapacity to fight with His By a reference, he understood,
of course, a conference meant to be acted
upon and therefore such an one as could be acted upon.
It was no such thing: as the next document will shew.
He did not knew no more than I how it had been
settled, at this conference, called a "reference": that, after
the powers of delay had been exhausted, the powers of Confusion
should be called in aid: — that the bantting trilitary
divinity armed at all points, should open out of the
pregnant brain of Mr King, armed at all points, like Minerva out of
Jupiter's: that the Duke of Portland should follow
the bantling, and Mr Long take it and in to nurse
— Your Lordship will see it presently, in all its
glory.
