EVIDENCE This rule when without any restrictions is a very bad one: because it suppose
contrary to Truth, that Human Nature is liable but to one
Passion which is Avarice; that the slightest gratification
of that Passion will commonly be preferred to every other consideration
& the slightest present gratification to any future.
