I thought so as well to introduced the
mention of the mode plan of punishment in question on
the present occasion as it bears so close an analogy
to the punishment proposed to be established in the labour-
houses and is so proposed to be so order'd if at all
as to depend upon that establishment for it's execution.
It may perhaps at some future time be a proper
subject for experiment: this only the point that seems
clear at present is that it is not fit to be admitted
as an independentoriginal punishment of itself but only as
an occasionall indulgence to be substituted instead occasionally
to the other.
