Box 139 not listed under "Un-transcribed Material" but as being 100% complete. However under "topics" it is listed and appears to have 542 manudcripts. Could you explain this and confirm that the interesting material in this box is available for trancrirption.

Thanks for the note back.

I'd be very curious about his early work. Let me know when that is loaded. And thanks for the tip on his older material. I may take a break and head over there. In that respect, think about several places I might be able to pursue at once, in case the current task becomes a grind. Variety can be good. Send me a list of places and tasks, please. Having the right help at the right time is what very organization needs.

As for my own efforts, I have only now the idea. There are some technical hurdles and maybe some expense. I need to gather my list of hopes and run them by a web-builder. Send any such people my way, if you know of them. Thanks for your thoughts and caring.

I'll dig back in. (I have a handful of days of vacation from my job teaching English and TV /media production. So I'll try to give you a few more solid rounds of work. And moving forward, hope to find a balance between obsession at transcribing and the rest of life. For know, I'm glad it is working in the favor of Bentham's scribbling. It is making me smarter, I think.)

(I think I can see that the mental load of transcribing and coding is a heavy one, but it is easier done with practice, I am finding, and so the strain is less. in this respect, I'll be better at doing the work properly.)

As for finding the Transcribe Bentham site....

The long quick story here is that I have been hoping to start up a collection of handwriting--both older and current--and to do some longitudinal study from even very young ages when children can first write to many years later. In the meantime, it makes sense to do work that will help others and to further the goals of projects like yours that have need of help. My searching on the web brought me to your site.

In the journey of looking at sites, I think the order was perhaps the Newberry Library in Chicago http://www.newberry.org/paleography Consider asking them to add you under English?

Hi Tim, Many, many thanks to you and the rest of the BP team for the great cup. You couldn't have sent anything more appropriate, since I'm seldom without my coffee at hand. There's a special spot on my desk that will now be devoted to JB.

 Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day, so I'm putting in lots of kitchen time, which is where I'm off to now.  Can't there be holidays without lots of food?

MS JB/005/017/001 begins with 2 lines of Greek symbols, possibly a passage from Homer's Iliad. How do you wish this transcription to be deposed?

Re corrections: Still confused about notes. Shall I disregard: "Note that you should not include line breaks within the text of the note, even if they occur in the manuscript"? (From the "Help" section) Thanks.

It appears, from the corrections on JB/002/145/001 and JB/002/179/001, that marginal notes in pencil are to be transcribed. Is that correct? Lea
