Reasons.
An offence of this sort differs nothing from a common
fraud. Now in the case of the sort of Fraud which is committed
by Counterfeiters and Diminishers of the Coin and
their Associates the demand for punishment is greater,
than in the Case of a common Fraud ; owing to the superior
difficulty of detection. See Quest. V.

Frauds upon the Coin than in the case of Frauds at large, and
