A Temporary Tollgatherer appointed between 2 Turnpike meetings on a vacancy
by death shall have the same powers & be bound to the same
duties as his predecessor one regularly appointed regularly<add>in the common course.</add> possession shall be given of the Toll-house,
with the appurtenances shall be given him (if opposed) afterat the end of 4 days
from after his appointment in like manner,by a Constable properly assisted with necessary assistance upon Warrant
from a Justice; & the persons & goods therein being shall be removed.

A Tollgatherer appointed instead of one discharged shall within after at the end of 2 days
from his appointment after notice given thereof to the other of the discharge, have possession have possession of the Toll-house with the appurtenances given him

shall not be removable by virtue of the Poor Laws, unless he have become
chargeable: nor shall he gain a Settlement thereby. nor shall the
Tolls nor Toll-house, nor any one in respect thereof, be liable to any
Parochial Tax.
