Genuine Instrument,
what-
2. For an instrument to be genuine, it must have been exec-
uted, (AA) 1. (If the person be material) by the person by whom it pur-
ports to have been made. 2. (If the time be material) at the
time at which it purports to have been made: 3. (If the place
be material) at the place at which it purports to be have been made.
Ways in which an
instrument may be
executed. [(AA) Executed] 1st An instrument purporting to contain the declarati-
:on of any party may be authenticated by him by any mark made
in the intent of expressing his concurrence with the contents; as
by signing his name, or, if he cannot write, making any other
kind of mark; or by affixing a seal, a stamp, or any other such
implement contrived for making an impression.
