Preservatives against
Forgery for the Receipt.
A particular type might also be appropriated
to the purpose, and penalties from as for
forgery, denounced against the attempt to imitate
it. As types are cast at present in imitation
of writing, of which the varieties are endless, a
type might be cast for this purpose of such
pattern as by means of flourishes + or other such
marks of distinction, should be rendered without
prejudice to its legibility be rendered dissimilar
in a striking degree to any every type already
in use. The paper might likewise
by colouring or otherwise be impressed with
appropriate and distinctive features; the imitation
of which might be comprized in the prohibition prohibitive and penal clauses
and penalty already mentioned. By
this means a scribe, how exprest soever could
do nothing without having for his confederates
a Poi Letter Founder, a Paper maker, and
a Painter, all each of them acting working with a halter
about his neck.
