Objection. From Ultramaria, money &c. ought to
be sent for common defence. Ans. This supposes it proved
that the defence of both would be better provided for, by money
sent from Ultramaria to Spain, than by letting
it remain in Ultram. to be so employed, or than by
sending it from Ultram. from Spain to be so employed.

The question is — as to satisfaction. Would you be satisfied
to see money taken from you declaredly for diminution
of that taken from Ultramaria? No: you would
in this case plead 8th art: so then would they.

If thus satisfied to pay money for nothing under the
dominion, not less would they be so to do, if free from dominion.
In the being subject to the dominion of distant
strangers, there is nothing that tends to add to satisfaction.

In every province where dissatisfaction has place
or is apprehended, there must be from Spain, fleet & army
to prevent its rising into revolt. Then where will be the
profit?
