months ago he was entered of Lincoln's Inn. It was about six
months ago that the family, with the exception of his eldest Sister (who is ) composed of his father and mother, and two
of his sisters (the third being married to the Marquis du Chesnel and settled in France) came over
with the intention of dividing their time between England and France,
in which last mentioned that country, where they have for some years past been settled
in on a purchase made in the vicinity of Montpellier. Between three and four years
ago, my Nephew he was my inmate four for about three months. But in all
that time, I saw but little of him, and had no communication with him on any such subject, as
that in question, regarding him as a mere Frenchman with no other
occupation than the management and improvement of an Estate which
inconsiderable as it would be in this country, is not altogether by no means so in France.
No other intercourse had I had with him, from the time he was 14 years old, at
which time the family left this country for emigrated to France. On
his arrival this last time, it was therefore matter of no less surprise than
pleasure to find him, as far as his French and Russian leanings admitted,
able as well as willing not only to afford me assistance in for all my works, those actually on the
hand as well as those of old standing included, much more useful assistance than I
