Art. or 1. If, for the purpose of effecting the acquittal
of a person defendant, a proposed witness refuses
to deliver his testimony, whether such refusal be final or
temporary, he will suffer f for such refusal be responsible
as for such mendacious information. to the same effect as would have been produced
to wit, for such mendacious information as would have been
productive of the same effect.
