Ch. XII. Remedies
§. III. Suppressive Remedies
1.
Suppressive remedies
applicable to the chronical
or say continuous
offences only.
2.
A remedy which, in
regard to a chronical
offence is suppressive,
is with reference to
the remainder non-consummated,
is preventive.
3.
In the cases in
question, though suppressive
be an opposite
general denomination
for the remedy,
the species comprehended
will be found to
be eminently dissimilar.

Suppressive remedies are
1. Extra Anti judicial.
2. Judicial.
5.
Anti extra judicial are
1. To the Wrongee, right
of resistance at the
time of the offence.
2. To individuals at
large, right of opposing
resistance to the
same offence.
3. To official persons
belonging to the preventive
or judicial service,
obligation at
wrongee's requisition
or on his behalf, to
oppose the like resistance.

4. To the same persons,
obligation on receiving
information of such
offence, without waiting
for such request,
to oppose the like resistance.
6.
A negative offence is
either acute or chronical transitory or
continuous. If chronical, If contiuuous
remedy suppressive.
If acute transitory, suppression
only produced by compulsion.
