§ 12 Fraudulent obtainment
What? – making, or alteration
of or addition to, for
what purpose? – is publication
necessary?
1. A note found in the possession
A. forged but never
published.
2. Nor attempted to be published.
3. Matter of record:
4. Any authentic matter
of a public nature; a
privy seal; a license
from the Barons of the
Exchequer to impound
a debt.

orders.
5. A protection from a
parliament .
6. By false making the
will of a living person:

on unstamped paper.

deed.
9. Fraudulent application
of a true signature to a
false instrument, for which
it was not intended & vice
versa.

a will for B. a rich person,
inserts legacies in it of his
own head

the name of
those against whom
it was not found.
12. Finding B's name at
the bottom of a letter at
a considerable distance
from other writing, cuts
off the letter, writes a general
release above the name,
& takes off the seal and fixes
it under the release.
13. Or makes copy of a receipt,
add to such word copy
material words, not in
the original and then offer
it in evidence on
a suggestion of the original
being lost.
14. Altering the manor
of Dale, in a deed to
the manor of Sale; or a
bond of 500£ in figures
to one of £5000.
15. Alters the date of a
bill of Exchange after
acceptance, thereby accelerating
the day
16. Altering the name
of a banker of London, and to
whom a county note was
payable, after he had failed
to the name of another
London banker who had
not failed – thereby giving letter
currency to good paper.

person.
